History grows in our gampong tells us about the coastal region of post-tsunami Aceh from the viewpoint and experience of Mardiyah Chamim, a female journalist of Tempo weekly newsmagazine.

Those involved in the aftermath of the killer tsunami, which devastated parts of Aceh province, undoubtedly have deep impressions of the tragedy. Mardiyah, a professional journalist, is no exception.

Journalists are people who know a lot of things. They are trained to record events in their minds and later write about them for the general public, but how much they can write is often constrained by the publication’s space limitations and policy as well as the editor’s selection. Many journalists are limited by these constraints and hence write only abridged reports that media circles classify as “newsworthy”. Trapped by such limitations, journalists then adopt their own attitude and tend to become exclusive, as if denying that the things not included in their reports simply never happened. They know all too well about newsworthiness but acknowledge nothing beyond it. Even if they acknowledge such things, they consider them unimportant because the news is seemingly not worth covering.

Now the books is free for anyone. You can download the books at http://acehjourney.net/e-books/en/

Do you know starbucks coffe? what do you like about starbucks? i love their coffe and of course their internet connection.

Unfortunately starbucks using a voucher to use their internet connection, this is different with Starblack at Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Starblack is a small coffe shop at Banda Aceh, Indonesia. I called starblack that’s because their coffe has a black color and almost people at Banda Aceh called this as a “Warung Kopi”.

And what’s the different between starblack and starbucks?

Starblack has an internet connection too, but this is free of charge. That’s the different. Yeah, i know this is not a good news for you which have good internet connection. But on Indonesia this is a good news just because it’s to expensive to get internet connection.

Hope someday, there will be a lot of hotspot at Indonesia and free of charge of course!

Looks like i’ll be using dropline gnome as my desktop manager.

Here’s Information about Dropline Gnome:

Dropline GNOME is a version of the GNOME Desktop that has been tweaked for Slackware Linux systems. It is available in Slackware’s standard .tgz package format, in addition to the usual source code. The current release is based off of the latest GNOME 2 distribution from the GNOME Project.

Slackware has long been renowned as one of the most secure and stable GNU/Linux system available, but its desktop has always left something to be desired. Dropline GNOME serves to address this while maintaining the core stability and simplicity of Slackware we all know and love. This is not simply a set of GNOME 2.6 packages; it has been tweaked and modified for a better appearance, cleaner interface, and a nicer integration with Slackware as a whole. Some of these differences are:

A complete set of i686-optimized packages

A convenient network-based installer and update system to easily keep your desktop up-to-date.

The latest release of FreeType combined with X.Org to display crisp, elegant fonts at any resolution on any type of display.

PAM integration, allowing configurable, increased functionality to non-root users (Example: changing the time or date).

FAM integration, allowing Nautilus to display an up-to-the-second accurate representation of your filesystem.

Library support for both ALSA (sound) and CUPS (printing). Niether is required, but the Dropline GNOME packages can take advantage of either.

A simplified, task-based menu system.

A default layout and theme setup designed to stay out of your way while remaining visually elegant.
